Description
This course explores the skills needed to work in retail stores. Learn to identify and understand the value of Canadian coins and bills, practise counting cash and making change, along with reading and writing money amounts, using both numbers and words. Explore point of sale, learning the difference between cash registers and point of sale programs. As well, practise counting your float at the beginning of a shift and reconciling your sales at the end of a shift. Learn to distinguish between size symbols and sort by number, letter size and colour. Discover what UPC numbers are and how they are used. Learn also to understand how to stock shelves and face merchandise.
